I've been writing on my "book" a lot this week. Sometimes I won't pick it up for a month, then I start writing and can't stop. It needs a lot of editing, but so far I'm really liking it. I'm into my 6th chapter and love the direction it's going. Originally I had a plot fleshed out, but as I was writing things changed and ideas come up that seem to fit more with the flow of the story. It's so fun to mold characters, give them a personality obstacles etc and to create a story for them. Some things I don't like, but will change them when I do a large edit. Anyway, I'm sure this is entirely too boring for you all, but I just wanted to share my excitement. I may even post a chapter here at some point...who knows.
Hope everyone is having a nice week so far :)

Yes!!!! Post a chapter!
I think I've finally settled on my own idea for a novel that I think is worth trying to see through the long process of getting down in print.
I REALLY wanted to do Nanowrimo this year, but I'm glad I didn't. There's no way I would have finished with all that's happened, and that would have been a major disappointment in/to myself.
Nanowrimo is National Novel Writing Month. Basically the way it works is you commit to write a 10,000 word novel in the month of November. You upload your content to the website and their computer tracks your progress. You can also get feedback etc from other writers. At the end of the month if you make it, you get a certificate and they put your name on the list. It's kind of a big deal, it proves you can produce I guess, if you were ever to get a manuscript published...
The nice thing about it is that since it's an insane pace of writing, nobody cares if what you write sucks. It can be completely terrible and you still win. It's a good way to get 'safe' feedback. If what you write really does suck, then you can just blame it on the time factor and not feel bad about yourself.
Their website is: http://www.nanowrimo.org/
You should totally post a chapter. Or email it to me! :) My address is my screename at gmail dot com.
